THE FLYING DUTCHMAN
Richard Wagner | Directed by Milo Rau | Deutsche Oper Berlin, 2026
Dramaturgical Collaboration, Israel Research & Prologue
Milo Rau’s new staging of Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman uses the opera as a point of departure for an exploration of German guilt, antisemitism, memory and German-Israeli relations after the Holocaust.
Doron’s work focused on the Israeli and Palestinian dimensions of the project, including research, encounters, filming and the development of a public prologue in Israel.
